Internship training

(for citizens of the Republic of Belarus and foreign residents)

The Decision of The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus dated 12.07.2013 under No. 61 "On some issues of internship training"

Persons with higher medical/pharmaceutical education, as well as persons without the abovementioned education applying for positions of medical specialists, pharmacists-professionals, shall pass internship training as doctor-Interns, pharmacist-interns in healthcare organizations in order to deepen knowledge and gain practical skills for later self-employment as medical specialists and pharmacist specialists. Internship training shall be based on the fixed-term employment contract for the period of internship training and the agreement on organizational and methodological support of the internship training.

Terms of the internship training:

- for interns- 12 months;
- for interns studying "Bacteriology", "Healthcare Science", "Common Hygiene", "Epidemiology", "Sanitary and hygienic laboratory analysis", and pharmacists-interns - 5 months;

To sign an agreement on internship training the persons applying for positions of interns, pharmacists-interns, shall submit a claim to the internship training department of the medical university with the following documents attached:

- copy of diploma of higher education;
- copy of the document proving the identity;
- copy of the certificate of recognition of the academic credentials issued abroad  and establishing its equivalence (matching) to the academic credentiPersons with higher medical/pharmaceutical education, as well as persons without the abovementioned education applying for positions of medical specialists, pharmacists-professionals, shall pass internship training as doctor-Interns, pharmacist-interns in healthcare organizations in order to deepen knowledge and gain practical skills for later self-employment as medical specialists and pharmacist specialists. - copy of the certificate of recognition of the academic credentials issued abroad  and establishing its equivalence (matching) to the academic credentials of the Republic of Belarus (if required they can be drawn up at als of the Republic of Belarus (if required they can be drawn up at the National Institute of Higher School, 15 Moskovskaya St. Minsk);

- document evidencing proficiency in Russian (Belarusian) language and possibility to study the plan and program specialties of internship training and (or) passing the qualification exam (where available);
- a copy of the work record book  or other documents evidencing work experience (where available);
- a copy of the certificate of independent employment (where available);
- a letter about definition of the healthcare organization, which may be the base for the internship training (hereinafter referred to as "internship training base"), - for persons with granted right for  independent employment, as well as those specialists who received higher medical / pharmaceutical education outside the Republic of Belarus.

Other documents can be submitted if required.

Those foreign residents or persons without citizenship constantly living in the foreign states, residing  in the Republic of Belarus, who received higher medical and pharmaceutical education in the Republic of Belarus, shall have the internship training and (or) take a qualification exam after passing tests in Russian (Belorussian) proving the possibility to study the plan and program  of internship training and (or) passing the qualification exam, if not stipulated otherwise by the applicable law of the Republic of Belarus or by international agreements of the Republic of Belarus.

After the internship training a pharmacist-intern shall take a qualification exam in order to determine the level of training.

Categories of persons who have a right to pass the qualification exam without internship training:

- who passed a full-time study or who were trained full-time and completed an individual work plan of the postgraduate student for the first year of study, individual training plan of the clinical intern for the first year of training, who successfully completed a higher education program of II degree and passed the final examination successfully, provided that the individual work plan of the graduate student, postgraduate student, individual training plan of the clinical intern complies with a program of the internship training specialty;
- persons having the degree of candidate and (or) doctor of medical, pharmaceutical sciences in the relevant specialty;
- persons having work experience as medical specialist, pharmaceutical specialist for at least one year immediately before the qualification examination.

Grodno State Medical University;
Gomel State Medical University.
