The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation are actively involved in the development and implementation of the programmes of the Union State.
The concept of the programme of the Union State Children's Oncology and Hematology has been developed and endorsed by the Ministers of Health of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
In addition, concepts of the following five programmes of the Union State are under development: Chemicals and Human Health for 2014-2016, Combating Stroke for 2014-2017, Development of New Spinal Systems Using Prototyping Technologies for Surgical Treatment of Children with Severe Congenital Deformities and Spinal Injuries for 2014–2017, Combating Tuberculosis for 2014-2016 and Hybrid Cardiovascular Surgery for 2014-2016.
In order to address the issues arisen during the finalization of the draft programmes, the Ministry of Health sent the Belarusian scientists, the authors of these programmes, to participate in the VII Forum of the draft programmes of the Union State Programmes of the Union State: Goals and Objectives, which was held on November 20, 2012 at the Congress Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
On November 23, 2012 a joint meeting of the Boards of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation was held in Minsk.
On December 12, 2012 the issue On Concerted Actions of Health Policy within the Framework of the Concept on Social Development of the Union State for 2011-2015 was considered at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State in Moscow and perspective directions of this policy were determined by the Concept for the year 2013 and subsequent years. An Action Plan on realization of the Concept is now being fulfilled.
